TECHNOLOGY
The Academy of St. Bartholomew is equipped with the newest state-of-the-art technology in its computer lab, as well as in every classroom. Our computer lab is equipped with 32 Dell Pentium IV workgroup computers with 22-inch flatscreen monitors. In addition, our computers are loaded with the latest educational and business software available including the entire Microsoft Office 2007 Business Suite, Adobe Photoshop Elements 7, desktop publishing and authoring software for children. Our instructor monitors every student's computer and is able to broadcast to any computer in the lab. The lab also has four printers, one which is a Phaser solid ink printer. Students are also able to record at two recording stations.
Every classroom has an ActivBoard with projector where students have an interactive learning experience. Each classroom has two computers for students to use for Accelerated Reader and Internet research. All teachers have their own laptop.
Thanks to the generosity of our parent group (PSSG), new ActiVote and ActiveExpression devices were purchased to be used in the classroom. These devices give students an additional interactivity with each lesson.
The entire school is networked and has access to the Internet. This year, students in the technology lab will use blogs, podcasts, wikis and even Skype in a number of classroom projects. This makes our classroom truly global.
Please make it a point to visit our computer lab when touring our school.
