Our Preschool is an accredited program that follows the
Diocese of Cleveland. We are in the process of becoming “Step up to Quality” certified.
Our Pre-Kindergarten Curriculum addresses child development objectives and Ohio’s
early learning standards. Our focus is the personal, social, emotional and spiritual growth
of the child as a whole, rather than mastery of subject matter.
We understand that preschoolers learn best through positive, meaningful play experiences
that support the child’s natural curiosity which in turn builds a life-long love for learning.
Hands-on discovery activities inspire each child to explore, experiment, create and
problem solve. We encourage the healthy development of self-confidence and a positive
attitude toward learning in a nurturing, faith-filled environment that fosters imagination
and creativity. Your child will emerge a happy and prepared student ready to succeed at
every academic level!
The Academy of St. Bartholomew exists to assist the parents in an atmosphere of faith and
learning. The school community strives to exemplify the Person Jesus, not only by Word, but
also especially by example. The primary purpose of our Pre-K program is to provide the children
with a smooth transition from home to a school atmosphere. The family is the first model for
developing attitudes, values and appropriate behavior, but the school offers the young child an
opportunity for interaction with other children and adults in an atmosphere of Christian love.
Learning experiences and discovery activities encourage the healthy development of each child
spiritually, intellectually, socially and physically.
At the Academy of St. Bartholomew Preschool the children are involved in many hands on
activities that encourage, develop and reinforce discovery. We build a classroom family that
practices a Christian Spirit of caring, sharing and loving for those we are with.
The children’s fine and gross motor skills develop as we progress through our activities and
different play centers. We practice and learn age appropriate social skills and prepare for the
home to school transition.
Our focus in preschool is to have fun as we travel this journey
Mrs. Liane Pagan earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education from Cleveland State University. She has been teaching Preschool for more than ten years and also has experience as an Early Intervention Specialist with children from birth to age three.
Mrs. Diane Kasperczyk is our certified education preschool aide. Prior to being our kindergarten aide for the last several years, she spent fifteen years as a preschool teacher.
Once a week, Pre-K and four year old students will attend music, computer, and gym classes. In
addition, they will visit the library and check out a book each week.
