Reading is the key to learning, and the Academy of St. Bartholomew seeks to promote reading throughout the curriculum. The Summer Reading Program is one aspect of this mission. Summer is a perfect time to explore a good book. Books can take you to many new places and meet new friends.

All students in grades 6-8 are required to read one summer reading book plus complete a report for that book. Students should complete the attached template, then type a report using this information. The report should be typed and double-spaced. The completed template and report are due the first day of school, August 21, 2019.

The required summer reading book is an Accelerated Reader book, and the test will be taken as a class in school. Classroom discussions, assessments and activities will occur during the first two weeks of school.

Summer reading is intended to be pleasurable as well as thought provoking. Have an adventurous summer. See you in August!
